BUTLIN'S GREEN TEAM

We recognise that being one of the biggest employers in each of the towns where our resorts are based brings responsibilities, both to those we employ and who live and work in the communities around us.

That’s why in 2018, we started the Butlin’s Green Team, tasked primarily with launching initiatives to improve recycling, reduce energy consumption and remove single use plastics across all our resorts and head office in Hemel Hempstead. Simple measures, tirelessly applied, lie at the heart of what they do on the grounds that the smallest changes can often make the biggest difference. Current initiatives pursued at Butlin’s as a result of the Green Team include:

  • Wednesday Wombles at each resort where teams collect rubbish, with a monthly competition as to who can collect the most
  • Four beach cleans a year at each resort
  • Areas on each resort to support collections for local food banks, either for items guests have left behind (nonperishable only) or for guests to purchase and donate
  • “Pride in your Patch” – all resorts and head office have garden areas for each department to maintain
  • Bug Hotels – all resorts have specially built bug hotels to encourage bugs and wildlife to flourish alongside wildflower gardens to encourage bees and wildlife
  • Car sharing and ride to work schemes on all resorts and head office
