Before you go to Skegness

We can't wait to see you on resort getting stuck in to all sorts of family fun! Until then, everything you need to know about your upcoming break to Skegness is here.

Since the pandemic, we've changed the way we do a few things, including now being able to book shows, activities, and your arrival time in advance. So take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with what's what to ensure you get the most out of your break.
 
Arriving by Public Transport

East Midland Railway will not be operating a service to or from Skegness on 23 and 25 June due to planned strikes. If you are coming by train, please plan ahead and leave extra time for disruption. For more information, please see here.

One of the biggest changes we've made to our experience is that you'll now be able to book your shows and activities in advance.

We've changed how we do a few things including our arrival and check in process, to ensure we can keep all our guests and team safe. If you've joined us before or you're new to the Butlin's family, here's what you need to know and what you can expect on your arrival...

Allocated Arrival Entrance

24 hours before you arrive, you'll receive an email or text confirmation of your designated arrival entrance, where your welcome pack and keys will be waiting for you (the locations are also listed below).

It’s really important that you arrive at the right entrance to ensure a safe and easy check in.

Drive-through check in

All guests staying in our Atlantic Bay and Oyster Bay villages will experience our drive through check in, so there’s not need to leave your car until you’re ready to park up for your break. All you'll need is your booking reference and ID, and our team will be waiting to give you your pack and direct you to your accommodation.

At the drive through, you can help us respect our neighbours and the environment by:
  • Keeping the noise to a minimum by turning music down or switching it off
  • Switching off your engine
  • Remaining in your car at all times for your own safety

Book your arrival time

You can now book your arrival time in advance. We'll email the lead booker 14 days before the break with details on how to do this via our Plan My Day tool.

You'll be able to select your preferred time or make any amendments to your selection up until 3pm the day before you arrive. If on arrival day you’re running late, don’t worry there’s no need to let us know. You won't be able to access your accommodation before the normal published times (3pm or 4pm dependant on your accommodation type or Premier Club early access). If you select an arrival time after your accommodation access time, it won't be ready until the time you have selected to arrive.

Arriving via public transport: if you're arriving by public transport, you'll need to use the Main Entrance and check in at Green Baize. 

Parking: we have lots of free on-resort parking, although spaces can’t be reserved. When you arrive on resort, our team will direct you to the car park closest to your accommodation.

Luggage trolleys: when you're parked up, there are plenty of luggage trolleys to help you unload the car and get your belongings into your accommodation. Trolley parks are located in or near the car park.

What's in your accommodation

Before you get busy packing, here's a quick reminder of what we're doing on resort to ensure we keep you safe, plus what you'll find in your accommodation:


Housekeeping: Your accommodation will be fully serviced before you arrive, our housekeeping teams are well equipped with the correct PPE and cleaning products to ensure your break is both safe and comfortable.

Towels and Linen: If you need additional towels and bedlinen during your stay, you can request these from our Guest Services team via the app.

Tea & coffee: Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival alongside the facilities to make it in your accommodation. However, we will not be able to replenish the tea and coffee throughout your stay.
What's in your accommodation

When you're on resort

We've got lots of handy tools for you to use while you're on resort to maximise the fun and reduce the stress! Start off by familiarising yourself with Skegness using the resort and accommodation maps below.

Swimming: for your safety we ask that all guests arrive swim-ready and limit the number of personal items you bring with you. Showers are back in use and lockers will be provided, so don’t forget to bring a £1 coin!

On-resort vouchers: if you're due to receive vouchers to spend on resort, you'll be emailed them or you can access them in the app no earlier than 24 hours before your break start date.

Vouchers are only redeemable throughout your stay and on the break date that they have been issued for. Please note that any balance remaining at the end of your holiday is non-transferable to other break dates, or to other guests that have a Butlin's booking. Once you have left our resort any credit balance unused will expire on the day that you leave at 13:00. Please see our Terms & Conditions for further detail.
 
Paying for things on resort: Our preferred payment method when on resort is contactless, and from 29 October 2021 the limit will increase to £100 per transaction.

DineAround dining plan guests: if you've already, or are planning to, add the DineAround dining plan to your break, you'll need to book a breakfast venue and time slot, and choose a lunch or evening restaurant in advance via the app. Find out more about how to book your experience here.
