Skegness, 7 April 2025
Butlin’s, the Home of Entertainment, has appointed Andrew Leivers as its new Resort Director for Skegness, Lincolnshire, with immediate effect.
His role includes responsibility for the operations of the resort, leading more than 1200 Butlin’s team members, and overseeing the affordable, quality, fun breaks - providing best-in-class entertainment - Butlin’s guests have come to expect.
The announcement comes midway through Butlin’s five-year growth strategy, backed by a £150m capital investment programme with significant investments made to the Skegness resort including the opening of Maple Walk accommodation village and the SKYPARK playground. Founded in 1936 by Billy Butlin, Skegness was the UK’s first-ever holiday camp and is where the Butlin’s story began.
Andrew joins Butlin's from David Lloyd, where he was Regional Director. During his time with the health club chain, his crowning achievement was helping his region achieve the company’s highest member experience scores, simultaneously increasing profitability.
Andrew brings a wealth of leisure industry experience to the role having previously served as Head of Proposition Development at Away Resorts and Operations Director at outdoor educational and activities specialist Inspiring Learning.
Commenting on the announcement, Andrew Leivers said: “Butlin’s reputation for best-in-class entertainment has drawn generation after generation of families to its Skegness resort for almost ninety years.
“The sheer scale of the investment and modernisation across Butlin’s means it’s an incredibly exciting time to join the business, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to play my part”.
