BUTLIN'S HOLIDAY PROTECTION

You can receive a refund if you cancel your break up to two days in advance for the following reasons:

  • Illness (covered by a doctor's certificate) 
  • Death  
  • Redundancy 
  • Jury service

We will require the correct documents to accompany your claim in the form of a doctor’s certificate, death certificate, redundancy letter or court notification for jury service. The Butlin’s Holiday Protection will only cover named guests on the booking as a whole unit and not for the removal of individual guests. Claims cannot be made for any of the four reasons for individuals not included on the booking.

 

If you cancel within two days of your break or for any other reason than those mentioned above, you'll receive a reduced refund amount and charges may apply.

 

Butlins Holiday Protection can be added to your booking up to 14 days after the initial date of booking your holiday. If you decide the holiday protection is not for you we can remove this from your booking within 14 days of the initial booking date at no extra charge.

YOU HAVE OUR HOLIDAY PROTECTION AND YOU'RE CANCELLING DUE TO ILLNESS, DEATH, REDUNDANCY OR JURY SERVICE:

Two days (48 hours) or more

Full refund minus a cancellation charge of £65 per accommodation unit and cost of Butlin's Holiday protection per accommodation

 

Two days (47 hours, 59 minutes) or less

30% refund of your total holiday cost and cost of Butlin's Holiday protection per accommodation

 

If you do not wish to cancel your break we can offer a date change, this must be within the same calendar year and the booking must be amended before the start date of your current  break. 

YOU HAVE OUR HOLIDAY PROTECTION AND YOU'RE CANCELLING FOR ANY OTHER REASON:

70 days or more

Full refund of the total cost of the break minus a cancellation charge per accommodation unit (detailed above) and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection per accommodation

 

69-43 days

70% refund of the total cost of the break minus a cancellation charge per accommodation unit (detailed above) and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection per accommodation

 

42-29 days

50% refund of the total cost of the break minus a cancellation charge per accommodation unit (detailed above) and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection per accommodation

 

28-8 days

10% refund of the total cost of the break minus a cancellation charge per accommodation unit (detailed above) and cost of Butlin's Holiday Protection per accommodation

 

7 days or less

No refund

 

If you do not wish to cancel your break we can offer a date change, this must be within the same calendar year and the booking must be amended before the start date of your current  break. 

NO HOLIDAY PROTECTION

If you’ve chosen not to take out Butlin’s Holiday Protection, we’re unable to offer a refund should you need to cancel your break.
Please note that:

  • Outside of 70 days before your break start date, you’ll lose your full deposit of £30 per person.
  • Even if a lower deposit (such as £1, £5, or £10) was paid at the time of booking, the minimum cancellation deposit of £30 per person still applies.
  • Within 70 days of your break, you’ll lose all monies paid.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

For breaks booked for 2025:

  • 3 & 4 nights - £27.95 per booking
  • 6, 7, & 10 nights - £33.50 per booking
  • 11 nights or more - £57.00 per booking

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM

To make a claim you'll need to email our Customer Care team at holidayprotection@butlins.com at least 48 hours before the start date of your break, then send in written proof, for example a court notification for jury service or a doctor's certificate, via recorded delivery of your reason for cancelling. We'll then write to you within 48 hours of receiving the documentation to let you know whether or not we can provide a refund. There will be a £65 per accommodation unit cancellation charge.

If you're cancelling for another reason, you'll need to email our Customer Care team to discuss your options.

 

Claims cannot be made for any of the four reasons for individuals not included on the booking.
