DJ Spoony got his start in the UK’s once-booming pirate radio scene back in the mid-90s, forming one-third of the Dreem Teem trio on leading station London Underground. His chance to bring UK garage to the mainstream came when he joined BBC Radio 1 for the millennium, hosting the Weekend Breakfast Show. Millions of listeners kicked off their weekends with DJ Spoony, with features like Judge Fudge and Local Legend becoming firm favourites amongst fans.

His Weekend Breakfast Show years kicked off two decades of radio domination, with DJ Spoony taking residence on Radio 5 live, Radio 2 and Rinse FM. He also became a regular on the small screen, making appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Mastermind, A Question of Sport and Premier League TV.
