911 AT BUTLIN'S BIG WEEKENDERS
With five albums, 16 million record sales, and a string of sold-out shows to their name, 911 were amongst the most popular bands of the noughties. Now you’ve got another chance to see 911 live - they’re making their way to Butlin’s resorts across the UK for Butlin’s Big Weekender, as we take it Back To The 2000s!
911's BIGGEST HITS
911 - Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Spike Dawbarn - made their debut back in 1996, with the release of their first single ‘Night To Remember’. 911 broke the mould from the start, finding immediate success despite releasing their first two singles independently. By the end of 1996, they’d already secured their first of many top-ten hits with ‘Don’t Make Me Wait’.
Their first album, The Journey, was released in 1997 and was soon certified gold in the UK. The Journey marked the start of their international success, with the album even hitting the top spot in the Malaysian album chart and keeping this position for 20 weeks. When 911 announced their hotly-anticipated first headline tour, tickets for all 35 dates sold out in just 30 minutes.
911 went on to release another two albums, Moving On in 1998 and 1999’s There It Is, which included the number one single ‘A Little Bit More’. By 1999, the band were so successful that they were able to release a greatest hits album, titled The Greatest Hits and a Little Bit More. After the release of this album, however, the band announced they’d be calling it quits.
In 2012, 911 finally reunited as part of The Big Reunion, along with fellow BBW stars Blue, Atomic Kitten and Liberty X, performing a sold-out comeback concert at Hammersmith Apollo. This was followed by the release of a brand new album - their first in almost 15 years - as they released Illuminate… (The Hits and More) in 2013.
911 continued to perform to fans throughout the 2010s, even embarking on an Asian comeback with a sold-out concert in Kuala Lumpur. 911’s long-standing popularity is a testament to their talent, resilience and enduring appeal, with the band still celebrated for their unforgettable hits.
