The Family Friendly programme aims to make Britain the best place to raise a family, and to help companies and brands understand the needs of modern families, so that they can go the extra mile to make families' lives easier. The awards recognise companies that are prepared to work hard to ensure that they can offer the best service and facilities for families and consistently meeting the set criteria.
To qualify for an award every Family Friendly programme member has an internal and external review. The internal review includes looking at HR policies, training, facilities and how companies communicate their family-friendly policies to staff. It also involves staff feedback surveys.
The external review involves Mumsnet members doing some "secret shopping" (or secret holidaying in our case!) to find out how family-friendly the company is with its customers - looking at customer service, facilities, marketing and value for money. All of the results are collated and scored in order to decide whether to award a company bronze, silver or gold.
For the 3rd year running we’ve been awarded gold, which means we have innovative policies in place, including enhanced team benefits and practical approaches to ensure our policies are having an impact and reaching team at all levels. Mumsnet members say that gold companies are leading the way in family-friendly practices.
