The Butlins Mineworkers Open National Brass Band Festival is the combination of a short break family holiday with a brass band contest. All five sections will compete on Saturday 21 playing the set test piece and on Sunday 22 the Championship section also includes an entertainment programme hosted by BBC Radio 2’s Frank Renton.

The weekend will also feature well known brass stars including, The Polysteel Band, Bones Apart, Brass Band Aid Celebrity Band, Stan Lippeatt & Friends with guests Nick Childs and Peter Roberts, Grimestein and The Royal Marines giving live performances.

Plus there's all the entertainment and facilities that makes Butlins so famous.

• Bob the Builder will keep them busy with fun and games. When he needs a break, Billy Bear, Fireman Sam, Pingu and friends take over. Even Angelina Ballerina is at Butlins too! She's running ballet classes for little people who love pink.
• Kids can go wild in our shallow play area in Splash Waterworld and even try a slide or two.
• They can boogie at little disco's and join in the Kids Clubs.
• They can even stay on the FREE Funfair rides all day if they want

Plus an opportunity to be part of an official Guiness World Record attempt to form the Largest Brass Band in the World!

With a total prize fund of £23,000, the largest in banding today, the Butlins Mineworkers is a major event in the brass band calendar and one not to miss.
