As I’m sure you’re aware Butlins celebrates its 75th Birthday in 2011.  There are a number of events and festivities happening throughout the year – we’ll make sure you get plenty of notice.

Investment – next year is set to be Butlins’ biggest single capital investment year ever with another hotel and new restaurant concept both on the drawing board for the resort in Bognor Regis.  Subject to necessary planning consents Butlins is anticipating investing a further £34m in 2011.

Places to unwind – in this fast moving world hardworking families want the time to rediscover what makes them tick and remember the happy days of childhood.  Butlins not only offers loads of activities to try but also recognises that relaxation is equally important.  Therefore we’ve created peaceful green spaces, and landscaped gardens, where guests can sit down with the paper or gather around for a picnic lunch.

Soho Coffee Shop - We’ve teamed up with gourmet coffee expert Soho Coffee Company to open new cafés at our Minehead and Skegness resorts for 2011. Whether you’re into creamy cappuccino or strong black espresso, there’s something for everyone on Soho’s extensive menu, which features organic Fairtrade coffee from South America, along with hot chocolate and tea. And if you’re feeling peckish there are fresh handmade sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes and salads, as well as indulgent cakes and cookies.

LazyTown are bringing their live show, The Energy Show, exclusively to the three resorts from February half term and on every family break throughout the year.  As well as watching the high-octane show kids can pop along to the LazyTown sports academy where there a loads of games and activities to help them get into healthy habits whilst they’re on holiday.  LazyTown’s Sportacus will be encouraging children to eat healthily during their stay with Eat Well campaign.

New Live Show – The Streets are alive with the sound of music. Follow us as we break, freerun and dance through soundtracks to urban life. This high energy, action packed urban spectacular is one not to be missed!

Just a quick re-cap on some of the firm favourites still available at Butlins:

The amazing Splash Waterworld – where guests can bask in a subtropical climate and be as active or as relaxed as they like.  With bubble pools, flumes, lazy river rides, wave machines and younger children areas where they can learn to swim the whole family can enjoy getting wet! 

Hit Entertainment - favourites including Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Pingu and Fireman Sam. 

Brainiac Live! the hugely popular Sky One show is brought to life at Butlins bringing the weird and wonderful mysteries of science to kids and adults alike

Thomas & Friends™ – another of Hit Entertainment’s major kiddies’ characters is again exclusive to Butlins with a spectacular live show and lots of new ‘Thomas’ activities

Toddlers discover the magic of dance, music and drama by going on LittleMagicTrain adventures with sound, music, illustrations and educational stories – Mum and Dad can come along too.

Spas at Bognor Regis (Ocean Hotel) and Skegness both offering Spa Experiences with access to Hydro Spas, Saunas and Steam Rooms with a Snow Cave and Outdoor Tub at Ocean Hotel Spa.  There are also a number of treatments available at both Spas.

Activity Gardens – although all the resorts stand directly on the beach we decided to also bring the beach into the resort.  The Activity Gardens feature beach courts for beach sports including volleyball and frisbee as well as outdoor multi-sports areas for rugby, kwik cricket and basketball.  There are also indoor sports arenas offering fencing and archery.  For the more daring there is the High Ropes and Climbing Wall which, due to their popularity, are now at all three resorts

Stars from X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent – both current and previous stars will be appearing live at the Resorts throughout the year.
