Butlins happy days game is a worldwide viral hit


Happy Days, the first online game from Butlins has been celebrated as a success today as it has reached number one in the European Viral Game Charts and number two in the Worldwide chart. In the first month the game has had an impressive 412,000 unique users with an average play time of 3.2 minutes.

Designed and managed by TAMBA, the interactive game housed on www.butlins.com was launched on 12 August 2011with an aim to drive traffic to the website and increase awareness of family activities available across the three UK resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness.

Katie Snell, Butlins Social Media Manager, said: "This is the first time Butlins has ventured into the world of online gaming, so we didn't really know what to expect. I certainly didn't expect it to top the European Viral Game Charts and be No2 in the World's - it's awesome!

We're also delighted that people are playing for an average of 3.2 minutes - as anything over 3 minutes is considered to be excellent. TAMBA has done a fantastic job of designing and managing the Happy Days Game for us".

The Happy Days game brings to life the fun and sparkle of Butlins family breaks. The aim of the game is for the player to take all their guests to the right activity or entertainment on resort to make as many guests as possible happy. If the player makes enough guests happy they will earn their Redcoat and become a fully-fledged happiness maker.

The game can be easily shared on social networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter. Players have the opportunity to share the game with all of their friends and followers as it appears on the newsfeeds on both sites, encouraging others to take part.
