CLOWNING AROUND

20 March 2008

The break costing from £ 49* per person, is packed with clowning antics.  A giant big top will host the world’s finest clowns; acrobatics, contortionists, rope walkers, sword swallowers and even aerialists. Guests can watch shows throughout the break but also enjoy circus skill workshops, to see if they can be classed ‘a proper clown’!

A special circus school ‘The Red Nose Academy’ will also be launched, allowing children to experience the fun of the circus, learning skills such as Diabolo, stilt walking and of course juggling.  After a few rehearsals, youngsters will be invited to perform their new found skills live to an audience of over 2000 guests.  The six best wannabe clowns will win free Junior Clown membership to Clowns International.

Guests staying on the Circus Circus break can enjoy all the usual line up of entertainment on Resort.  There will be great live music, plus a recording studio to test your own vocal talents, a fairground, go-kart track and a giant Splash Waterworld.  Kids can meet their favourite TV characters such as Bob the Builder, Billy Bear and Angelina Ballerina who will be offering free ballet lessons.  For once, parents can sit back and relax while the kids do all the juggling.

A family of four can stay in the boutique Shoreline Hotel for just £69 per person based on a family of four (2 adults and 2 children aged 2 – 14 years) sharing a Hook’s Cabin. Guests can stay in a Silver self catering apartment for just *£49 pp based on people four sharing.  Both breaks are for the three night Circus Circus break, 7th – 10th March at Butlins Bognor Regis.

“The weekend is all about humour and fun.  When you’re surrounded by circus clowns, you can’t help but have a giggle.  The Big Top events look fantastic and I’m sure the Circus school will be a big hit with the kids”  Said Mike Godolphin, Head of Entertainment, Butlins Bluey Brattle, a clown for over thirty years and co-organiser of the event, is looking forward to getting his colourful colleagues together.  “We have so many famous faces from the clown world attending, its very exciting.  Shobi Dobi, an American Whiteface clown from the States, Francoise “Jester Coco” Chotard, from Paris who has many Guinness World Records for his acts and stunts, it’s going to be great fun. We even have a huge clown parade through the town which should create quite a buzz”.
